What is this Indicator?
This indicator shows the percentage of adults who report either: 1) using an illegal drug in the past month; or 2) taking a prescription drug in the past month that was not prescribed to them.
Why this is important: 
Substance abuse has a major impact on individuals, families, and communities. The effects of substance abuse are cumulative, significantly contributing to costly social, physical, mental, and public health problems.
Technical Note:  The regional value is compared to the national value; national data are derived from the PRC National Health Survey.
